Aims and goals
The mission of the Information and Library Education Group (ILEG) is to:
- Maintain a good general awareness of LIS education practice across Europe, and disseminate relevant information concerning the issue to EBLIDA members;
- Address the European Institutions, by making proposals and formulating position statements so as to promote the mobility and flexibility of qualifications both within countries and across national boundaries and the development of internationally recognised competency frameworks;
- Co-operate and work with other organizations and institutions by for example sharing information and best practice
More specifically the group will:
- Work towards an optimal balance between theory and practice in library education for the benefit of users and wider society;
- Establish a digital information resource on LIS education matters;
- Support innovation and evidence-based research in LIS
